It is the third time since 2021 that another Grand Prix will be held at the Circuit in Zandvoort. However, Lewis Hamilton has driven through the dunes of the Netherlands before, namely in Formula 3. To GPblog and others, he talks about his experiences in Zandvoort.

"I do remember coming and driving the track, and Formula 3 was awesome. And it was such an awesome track to drive in. So that's why I was excited to come back and drive here in Formula 1, especially with the new paddock that we now have at the end. And it's even more awesome than a Formula 3 car. I do wish we had stick shift. That was a cool element to Formula 3."

Circuit Zandvoort only has a tight track, and this also makes overtaking difficult. Asked if Formula 1 cars would fit on the circuit, Hamilton replied, "I think so. I don't know how much overtaking there's been over the course of the years. But driving in actual life is awesome here. And I think it fits really well. And, of course, I think there's such an amazing following here for the sport. The fans here are insanely passionate. And we're seeing them travel all over the world."

"So I think we deserve to have a Grand Prix here. This is one of the best tracks that was ever made. It would be good if it was a little bit longer. But maybe one day they'll do that," says the Briton.
