Chaos at Alpine: Szafnauer and Permane to leave team after Belgian GP

Alpine team principle Otmar Szafnauer and sporting director Alan Permane will both leave Alpine after the Belgian GP. The two will continue their duties during the Belgian Grand Prix, yet will, however leave the team during the summer break, the team announced via a press release. 

Earlier this month, CEO Laurent Rossi was relieved of his position, and now Szafnauer and Permane have left. Szafnauer had revealed earlier this week that he did not feel his position was under pressure.

Alpine thanks both men

Replacements for Szafnauer and Permane

Bruno Famin, the new Vice President of Alpine Motorsports, will take on the role of interim team boss starting from the Dutch Grand Prix. The current Alpine Academy Director, Julian Rouse, will be appointed as interim Sporting Director. Furthermore, Alpine also announced the departure of Pat Fry. He will be joining another F1 team, Williams.
