McLaren appeared at the British Grand Prix with a number of new parts, whose resemblance to Red Bull Racing's RB19 cannot be denied. However, according to Christian Horner, this is a normal development in Formula 1 and the Red Bull team boss does not see a problem with it.

McLaren impressed in its own home race at Silverstone by finishing second and third on Saturday, and finishing the race with second and fourth places for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Mercedes, among others, and especially Toto Wolff and Lewis Hamilton, pointed out that the updated version of the MCL60 does look very much like Red Bull's RB19 and that this might have something to do with the improved performance.

Horner on similarity between Red Bull and McLaren

Horner also sees the similarity with his team's car. "It is a very similar concept. I looked at the car on the grid and you can see that the philosophy they have borrowed is very similar, so they have chosen a similar path. That's only flattering, right?", Horner reveals in a press interview with GPblog.

The Red Bull team boss thinks that the different Formula 1 teams will get closer and closer to each other and therefore does not predict years of dominance for his own formation. "You can see it is already starting to happen. It won't be another seven years of dominance," Horner continued.

"The power sources are now all fairly equal or similar and the chassis is evolving much faster than the engine, so I think from the beginning of the season until now we can already see that everything is growing towards each other," the Red Bull team boss said.
