Sergio Perez had a weekend to quickly forget. For the umpteenth time this season, the Mexican missed out on the podium, having squandered his qualifying. His team Red Bull Racing's patience is reportedly starting to run out, although Christian Horner publicly keeps faith in Max Verstappen's teammate.

"He just needs to break it now," the team boss told GPblog and other media after the British Grand Prix about his driver's difficult run. "
He'll do it in Budapest, I'm confident. The way he races, some of his moves in the race, the one particularly on Carlos Sainz was quite stunning into Stowe, and his pace, if you look at his pace in the last stint, he was right there. It's frustrating for him that he's having to fight back all the time, but he's just got to sort his qualifying out on Saturday and as a team we'll do our best to support him on that."

Perez needs to regain momentum

Verstappen manages to get the maximum (or more than that) out of the Red Bull every race. With the same equipment, Perez does not manage to do so. "I think it's just one of those things. As in all sport, 90% of it's in the head, and I think he just needs a good run, and I think he'll find his momentum again."

Concerns are not starting to worry Horner, even though there are rumours that Perez might be replaced. "At the moment he's still running second in the championship, I think he's extended his lead over Fernando today, so we've got a good car, but we need to make sure that we've got both cars in contention," the team boss said.
