Williams has shared the first images of the final car. At the unveiling earlier this month, only the livery was shown. Ahead of the shakedown later today, Williams will show on its website now show some photos of what the car itself looks like.

Clear differences can be seen between the car Williams presented at the unveiling and the car that will take to the track today. For instance, the nose has been flattened more and made even narrower. The sidepods also stand out: where Red Bull, Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri opted for smooth, rounded sidepods, Williams has chosen a much more angular design. This ensures that along the side of the Williams there is much more of a sort of chute for air than in the other designs.

No particularly big surprises

Overall, Williams seems to have opted for a familiar design. In many ways, the car matches last year's. Not entirely surprising, as the rules around aerodynamics have remained the same this year. Even compared to the other cars shown so far, Williams has not made any ground-breaking choices.

Still, even now Williams will not have revealed all the details. Half of the teams have yet to reveal the car, and with two weeks to go until the first test days and three weeks to the first race, Williams will be keen to keep some secrets. Only when all the cars are on the track together can we really say whether Williams has taken the safe choice or whether there was another secret weapon on the drawing board.
