Frijns successfully operated on fractures in hand and wrist
Robin Frijns broke his hand and wrist during the ePrix of Mexico City. The Dutchman collided with his predecessor during the race and had to visit the hospital for surgery.
For Frijns, the ePrix at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez was one to quickly forget. The Team Abt driver already did not manage to qualify very strongly, starting the race from P19 in the scramble. In a corner combination, things went wrong for Frijns, who collided with the back of Norman Nato.
Frijns undergoes surgery
Team Abt announced on Twitter that the Dutchman had a fracture on his left hand and was being examined in hospital. Later in the day, the team was able to provide more clarity on Frijns' status.

Whether Frijns will make it to the next ePrix is unclear for now. In Saudi Arabia, the Diriyah ePrix is on the calendar in a fortnight' time. Two races will be held there at the Riyadh Street Circuit. The first race of the season in Mexico was eventually won by Andretti's Jake Dennis. Frijns' teammate, Nico Muller, came no further than fourteenth place.
