Nicholas Latifi is starting his third season at Williams this year. The Canadian driver is enjoying the new livery and is ready to fight for points in 2022.

Latifi drove his second season with the British team last year and certainly made progress in this year. In 2020, he was unable to gain any points, but in 2021 he managed to do so by finishing seventh and ninth at the Hungarian Grand Prix and the Belgian Grand Prix. In the end, this meant he finished last season in seventeenth place with seven points. In the new season, he would like to continue this progress.

In any case, the 26-year-old driver is already enthusiastic about the new design of the Williams. "I think it looks great and fresh. The blue has been associated with Williams for many years so I think it's important that that has stayed and the new flashes of red and a little bit of electric blue, I think it looks great," he told the presentation of the FW44.

In Barcelona, it's all about getting mileage

The Williams driver is looking forward to the test days in Barcelona but does indicate that it will not be about performance there yet. The main goal is to see if the reliability is good. "It's about understanding what this new car and the new regulations have to offer and understanding the aerodynamics because that's one of the biggest changes with this new generation of cars. We're just trying to do as many laps as possible, both for the team and for the drivers, so that we start to feel comfortable and build up confidence."
