Nikita Mazepin feels that his teammate Mick Schumacher has a big advantage over him. The Russian is currently preparing for the race in Portugal, but that is not easy for him.
Speaking to MatchTV Mazepin states that Schumacher has excellent ties with Ferrari because of his family, which gives him a big advantage over Mazepin. As a result, the Russian driver would struggle to get to know his car fully in the opening weeks of the season and to perform immediately.
Mazepin tells the medium: "We don't have a simulator in our team. Therefore we have to use simulators that most professional drivers have at home. Because I am not a member of that training (the Ferrari Driver Academy, ed.) I don't have those advantages. I will have to prepare for Portimão here in Moscow."
Disappointing season opening for Mazepin
The driver has not had a good start to the season so far. In the opening race in Bahrain, he was forced to retire early, while in Italy he finished in last place. His teammate Schumacher didn't come close to scoring either, which means the Haas team has plenty of work to do in the coming weeks.
