After a chaotic end of the first free practice in Rome, Formula E continues in the same way in the second free practice. This time fortunately no major accidents, but track repairs that throw a spanner in the works.

Kerbstones come loose

Early in the session, a part of the kerbstones on the street circuit of Rome came loose. Race control thought they would need about 20 minutes to repair the damage and according to the first reports, the session might run a bit longer.

Eventually, they decided not to do so and flagged the session. Many drivers did very few laps in preparation for qualifying this afternoon. Of the drivers who did set a time during VT2, Maximilian Günther was the fastest, just ahead of championship leader Nyck de Vries.
