Pierre Gasly is very satisfied with his start to the 2021 season. The Frenchman was in second place in the AT02 in the morning session rankings. Moreover, the AlphaTauri driver drove the most laps of the entire field in the first four hours on Friday.

"Here in Bahrain we have made a good start, everything has gone smoothly," Gasly is quoted by Speedweek. At the Faenza-based racing team, they couldn't have wished for a better start. "I couldn't be happier, no car has covered more miles than ours. So far everything is going according to plan, we've been able to tick off all the points on our list."

Gasly to attack

The behaviour of the new car was also as hoped. "We haven't had any problems with the stability. From Saturday, I'm going to attack," Gasly stated to the German medium.

Gasly finished tenth in the drivers' world championship last year. The 25-year-old wants to climb a few more places next season. "We had a good season, but we can do more. I know my team and I can improve. To score more points we need to make as few mistakes as possible," he concludes.
