Is Haas going to replace one of his drivers? "He's doing pretty well in F2"

Haas team boss Guenther Steiner says his team is currently progressing to an advanced stage and thinks the team is ready to receive a rookie as a driver. This could potentially be the end of Romain Grosjean or Kevin Magnussen.

Not ready for a rookie last year

In 2019 Steiner said that a rookie was not a wise choice because the team was a bit lost with the tyres. Now the Italian says the situation has changed because the team has the problems with the tyres under control.

"Yeah I would say so, we could handle a rookie. That is not an issue. When they come to F3 and F2, they are always very prepared anyway. In [Charles] Leclerc’s [rookie] year, we weren’t prepared for a rookie, because we needed to evolve the team, says Steiner according to GPfans.

Steiner is already looking at talent

Steiner's attention is currently focused on the talented Russian Robert Schwartzman. In 2019 the Russian still became champion of Formula 3 and is currently in first position in the Formula 2 standings. "He is doing pretty well. He has won two races in total", says Steiner. Steiner continues with the fact that he wouldn't take on any other drivers at the moment while Grosjean and Magnussen are still driving for the American formation.
