Red Bull team boss Christian Horner spoke briefly after the qualification in Melbourne with the Spanish Movistar about Saturday's result. Max Verstappen managed to secure a P4 to lift the spirits after a P17 from Pierre Gasly.
Despite the good result for the Dutchman, Horner is particularly impressed by Mercedes. “Mercedes is miles ahead of everyone else, but I don't think they would have expected that they would be that fast either. The second start was really the maximum attainable."
F1 analyst Paul di Resta agrees with Horner's story and said the following to Sky Sports. “Mercedes is shocked by the advantage they have over the competition. It's amazing what they do. "
