Robert Kubica believes that his new team Williams should have listened more to their drivers last season to avoid the problems they had.
Williams endured a dismal season; finishing rock-bottom in the Constructors' Championship after accumulating just seven points.
Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin were the victims of a terrible car produced by Williams - with the latter paying the price and being axed for Kubica.
Kubica, who will be making a return to the F1 grid for Williams, believes that the pain would have been less if the team had listened to the drivers' opinions more.
"We really thought we had a good car according to data from the simulator and the various departments," Kubica said to Auto Motor und Sport.
"Maybe they should have listened to the drivers and reacted faster. I don't build the car but sometimes the driver becomes aware of a problem earlier than the best engineer in the world.
"At the beginning of the season, we still had correlation problems. In the end, these deviations between tools and reality led to the misjudgement with the car. Nevertheless, we made some good progress in the second half of the season, especially in the simulator.
Kubica will be driving alongside George Russell, who will be taking part in his rookie season in F1, after winning the F2 world championship last season.
