Carlos Sainz is well aware of the pressure Helmut Marko puts on drivers

Carlos Sainz still has his future up in the air. He won't be driving at Renault next season, but a possible move to Red Bull is on the cards. He may even get moved back to Toro Rosso. Max Verstappen reportedly doesn't want to partner back up with Sainz.

Speaking to Auto Motor und Sport, Sainz discusses his relationship with Helmut Marko. He knows what to expect and thanks Marko for the help he already has received.

"There is mutual respect between me and Red Bull, which is nice to have. My relationship with Helmut Marko is also fine, and I know that I owe a lot to him. Thanks to him, I am now in Formula 1. But I also know that he is constantly putting drivers under extreme pressure," says Sainz.

"He has the right to do this, since Red Bull invests a huge amount of money in careers, including mine. They can demand a lot from me and I will always accept that."

Currently, Sainz is under contract by Red Bull. This deal will end on the 30th September. If Red Bull isn't to be for Sainz, he may face moving back to Toro Rosso. Rumours have also suggested the Spaniard will form an all Spanish team alongside Fernando Alonso. Only of course, if the two-time world champion stays.
