Thursday is the day: the FIA gala. Max Verstappen will be awarded the trophy that goes with winning the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship. The award ceremony will start at 20:00hrs. This can be followed live via the Facebook account of the international motorsport association.

The ceremony starts earlier, at 16:00hrs. This is when the FIA Champions Press Conference will commence. You can also tune in on the Facebook of the FIA. Amongst other things, the departure of Jean Todt, president of the FIA, will be highlighted.

A very big fan of the gala doesn't seem to see Verstappen, judging by his 2018 words. The top three in the world championship should always be present at the gala. Verstappen had just missed out on third place in the World Championship and then stated: "We calculated that way on purpose. That way I don't have to go to the FIA gala!" Still, the upcoming edition will be a special one for Verstappen with receiving the cup for his first world title.

What time does the FIA gala start?
