Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is not a fan of the updated racing guidelines and sees the wheel-to-wheel battles being overregulated.
Whereas Max Verstappen was handed a penalty in Jeddah for retaining the lead after a Turn 1 on-the-edge move with McLaren's Oscar Piastri, in Miami, the Dutchman got his elbows out to defend his lead from Lando Norris.
On the matter of the current stated of actual racing in F1, Horner is not so sure these guidelines are the way to go. "I think that it doesn't feel like natural racing anymore, it feels like maybe we're becoming overregulated in the wheel-to-wheel racing."
"They're (drivers ed.) racing to different lines and I'm not sure whether we just need to… It's becoming quite unnatural," he explained to media including GPblog after the F1 race in Miami.

Horner thinks 'drivers could discuss it'

For Horner, driver input then becomes paramount when trying to solve what he believes to be the issue.
"I don't know whether we just need a little bit of a reset. It would be good if perhaps the drivers were to discuss that in the next race because it just feels like when you introduce too many regulations you end up driving to the regs and it becomes a little unnatural," he concluded.
