Red Bull driver is sure: 'We will be champions'

After the most dominant Formula 1 season ever, Red Bull Racing faces another new challenge. The 2024 season is about to begin. In the run-up to the new season, there is much speculation about who will be fast. Red Bull test driver Jake Dennis knows better than anyone how the RB20 is developing, and he is pretty sure Verstappen will dominate again.

Everyone who follows Formula 1 makes predictions for the upcoming season. But only the people working internally in the teams can actually say anything meaningful about it. Jake Dennis does just that.

In addition to being a reigning Formula E champion, Dennis is also a test driver at Red Bull Racing. He is very involved in the developments of the RB20 and he has already had the opportunity to test the new car in the simulator.

Dennis expects Red Bull to be most dominant in 2024

From these tests, he concludes that Hamilton does not have to hope for a title fight, as he did in 2021. In an interview with Mirror Sport, Dennis was asked what fans can start to expect from the RB20, to which he said: "We've got an extremely fast race car again at the Red Bull team. I would expect us to become champions again, unless someone like Ferrari or Mercedes somehow manages to find about a second [per lap] overnight. I think it's going to be quite a dull season in Formula 1 with Max probably dominating."

He says this is because last season's dominance meant that the focus had already shifted quite quickly to the RB20 at the Austrian racing team. "I'd be lying if I said we didn't switch our attention to the 2024 car quite quickly. We didn't do any development on the 2023 car after Singapore," said the Briton.
