Toto Wolff names highs and lows of 2023: ''That was emotionally important''

Toto Wolff had a mediocre 2023 with Mercedes. Despite a second place in the constructors' championship, the team of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell still made a few too many mistakes. A big contrast with previous years. Which positive and negative moments from 2023 stands out for the Austrian team boss?

In an interview with Mercedes fan Tom, Toto looks back on last season and the peaks and troughs it has seen. "It's difficult because there have been so many where we had high expectations, and it kind of didn't come as we've expected. I believe maybe Brazil because that was such a good race for us in 2022. We dominated the whole weekend, the sprint race and the main race and then in 2023 the opposite was the case. So maybe that was a bad moment," Wolff said.

Fortunately, Toto also manages to name a great moment from this season, a fairly recent one in fact! He said during the interview on Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team's YouTube channel: "A good moment was Sunday night in Abu Dhabi. I never paid like big attention to P2, P3, you know. You want to come in P1. But then doing it and being able to score. That was emotionally and morally important for the team and that was a good moment."
