Lewis Hamilton has joined Fox Sports Australia indicated he does not like driving bad cars. Since the new regulations, his team Mercedes has struggled and Hamilton has failed to win. The Brit also feels his career is flying by.

New regulations were introduced in 2022, which would again see greater use of ground effect. Mercedes has not got it right since then and has not solved its problems in 2023 either. The W14 is not yet competitive enough to fight for victories and the seven-time world champion himself has already said he is struggling with his car.

Hamilton on bad cars

Between 2014 and 2020, Mercedes provided the dominant car for the Briton each time, but from 2021 it went downhill. In 2021, Red Bull Racing made things very difficult for the German marque, and from 2022, the Austrian team was at the top of Formula 1, while Mercedes' cars deteriorated. Hamilton has indicated that he does not like driving a bad car.

"I don’t like driving not great cars. I don’t like driving a car that’s not the car we had meant to have, but I love that challenge of like what can I do with it. Like okay, wins are not possible right now, so what is the maximum we can get?" the Briton told Fox Sports Australia.

Hamilton on career

Hamilton is now in his seventeenth season in Formula 1 and managed to score a podium in each, which is a record. He is now driving his 11th season for Mercedes, but feels his career has flown by. "I don’t understand how it went so quick. I feel like it’s going by within a blink of an eye."
