Gasly on Ocon: "We've had our ups and downs"

Pierre Gasly is not worried that the relationship between him and his future teammate Esteban Ocon will bother them. Instead, the Frenchman sees it as an opportunity to put their troublesome past behind them.

Gasly and Ocon have known each other for quite a long time. Even during their childhood, they met at kart races in France. What exactly happened between them has never become clear, but it is at least certain that the two did not get along well. So the fact that they will be teammates at Alpine next year could cause some friction. But Gasly is not worried about that.

He previously said in interviews that he and Ocon are both mature enough to know what the team needs. He now reiterates that again in interview Autosport.com, adding that it is probably actually good for their relationship that they will now be in a team together.

"We have had our ups and downs, but I really think this is a good opportunity for us to clear up the past, and I am definitely not worried. In the end we all have the same goal, to fight at the front, we all want to win, and we know that to do that we have to work together to move the team forward."
