Max Verstappen does not believe in any momentum. The Dutchman has been in good form in recent races but doesn't feel it will help him at the Mexico Grand Prix.

If you're in good shape it can sometimes be a bit easier than if you're in bad shape. With a win in America and the lead in the championship, Verstappen arrives in Mexico in good shape. However, this doesn't give the Dutchman any leverage.

''It's been a bit up and down in terms of momentum. I don't really believe in that kind of thing. It's all about trying to about optimise every single weekend and nail the details,'' Verstappen said at Formula1.com. According to the Red Bull driver, a good momentum in the race weekend is ultimately not enough.

''What is momentum? If you are lazy and you don't prepare well, then your momentum is gone. We have to be focused and make sure we get the car in the best way together with the engine package. Then I'm confident we can do a good job," concludes the Red Bull Racing driver.
