Sergio Perez ended his final session of the winter test in Bahrain as the fastest driver. After a relatively cautious start to Saturday's test, Perez has given Red Bull Racing a glimpse of what he's capable of. Jolyon Palmer highlighted Perez's performance on Sunday morning.

"The Red Bull is looking better and I think after a bit of a slow start at the team, Checo is doing well now," stated Jolyon Palmer in his analysis for F1TV.

"He is more mature and experienced than Pierre and Alex Albon and the car looks good I must say."

RB16B is more balanced

At Red Bull in recent years, the car has suffered quite a bit from an unstable rear end when turning into corners and the car was very sensitive to the wind, with even Max Verstappen struggling with it. That seems to be a lot less of a problem this year in Perez's hands.

"We haven't seen any wild moments from him yet. We've seen a few understeer moments, but if the Red Bull understeer it's not a big deal because they've had to fight with the rear in the last few seasons," Palmer said.
