Eight new coronavirus infections have been identified in Formula 1, the FIA reports on their official website.

Between Friday October 9th and Thursday October 15th, 1506 tests were carried out on the drivers, teams and staff within F1. This includes the Eifel Grand Prix weekend. Now it appears that eight of these tests have a positive result.

According to protocol, all Formula 1 drivers have to take a Covid-19 test every five days. Those with a positive result must immediately go into self-isolation, and others within the same 'bubble' must be quarantined while awaiting the result of their own test.

It is not clear who the eight positive tested people are.
