MotoGP also postpones sixth Grand Prix of the season

The Formula 1 calendar is not the only planning that is confused by the coronavirus. This also applies to MotoGP, where the French Grand Prix has already taken the sixth race of the season off the calendar.

Whereas the F1 just came to Australia not to race, the MotoGP is a bit faster in that respect. The first races were quickly taken off the calendar, but the organisation doesn't want to plan far ahead yet. The French Grand Prix was scheduled in May and in fact everyone already knew that it wouldn't go ahead.

''Due to the uncertain nature of the situation it was decided not to give clarity about the new calendar until events could be held again'', is the statement of the FIM. The provisional start of the season is now scheduled for the last weekend of May, but whether it will be possible to race on the circuit of Mugello in Italy is of course debatable.
