The Australian Grand Prix has been postponed. It looks like a number of races could follow suit. Follow the liveblog below to keep up to date with all the latest developments. 

Just a few hours before the first free practice session of the season, Formula 1 announced the cancellation. Both Bahrain and Vietnamese Grands Prix are set to be postponed. This liveblog will keep you up to date.

BREAKING: McLaren withdraw from Australian Grand Prix

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that the McLaren member was getting testing for coronavirus. Four members from the Haas team were also getting tested, but their results have come back negative.

Other events

A number of events within the world of motorsport have been cancelled. Moto GP and Formula E have both postponed races, while so-far Formula 1 has only delayed the Chinese Grand Prix. The Bahrain Grand Prix is due to go ahead behind closed doors. 

Other sports, including football, have played events without spectators. The Italian football league has been put on hold while the outbreak develops.
