Hamilton: "I don’t have plans on stopping soon, there is more to do, more to win"

Lewis Hamilton, 34, admits he's feeling "fantastic, physically and mentally". The five-time Formula 1 world champion is still at the top of his game and shows no intention of hanging up his racing shoes any time soon.

He and his Mercedes team hit a new low after a poor race weekend in Germany, but a sublime strategy choice and controlled drive delivered Hamilton his eighth win of the 2019 season just a week later. In Hungary, pundits and fans suggested that Max Verstappen's performances of late signalled a changing of the guard. But Hamilton answered those questions during Sunday's race.

Even though the British driver is approaching his mid-30s, Hamilton feels as though he's still getting better.

“I want the second half to be even stronger than this first half. I am 34 years old but I feel like I am driving better than ever. Hopefully on Sunday you could see I have not lost any speed," Hamilton told The Guardian

“One day I will have to stop but right now I feel fantastic, physically and mentally. I don’t have any plans on stopping anytime soon – there is more to do, more to win, more to achieve together inside and outside the car," Hamilton added.
