Sebastian Vettel has accepted responsibility for the crash between him and Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix. Vettel eventually finished the race in 16th whilst Verstappen came over the line in fifth.

The incident occurred when Max Verstappen overtook Vettel into Stowe, giving the German plenty of space and still making the move stick. Vettel responded by trying to dive down the inside but there was no gap and Vettel went into the back of the Dutchman.

Both drivers spun off the track and the Ferrari man was penalised with a ten-second time penalty and two penalty points. After the race, Vettel accepted responsibility for the incident which eventually saw him finish 16th.

"Well it was my mistake so obviously he passed me and then ran a bit wide which gave me the chance to come back then I looked for a second that he was going to the right and there would be a gap of the left which didn't open and by that time it was too late and I crashed," Vettel explained.
