Hulkenberg: Renault "engine came back to life" in Monaco

After the Australian Grand Prix, you wouldn't have expected Nico Hulkenberg to go pointless in the following five races. But that's exactly what happened as Renault's engine struggled to fire.

Hulkenberg's seventh-place finish in Australia is about the only positive the German can take from the 2019 Formula 1 season. However, he's confident the upgraded Renault engine will help yield better results from now on.

The team spotted a fundamental problem with the engine during the Bahrain Grand Prix. The French team worked hard and restored full power last time out. Hulkenberg dishes out the praise.

“They found a solution very quickly. They have made a new design and made all the necessary adjustments. That was quite impressive to see. In Monaco, you could feel that the engine came back to life and we could really fight again. That is very positive," Hulkenberg told France's Auto Hebdo.
