Lewis Hamilton has spoken about his Formula 3 experience of Zandvoort as rumours surrounding a potential deal for Circuit Zandvoort to host a Dutch Grand Prix continue to swirl.

Hamilton won the Masters of Formula 3 title at the track, beating drivers such as Sebastian Vettel who finished 11th and fellow Brit Paul di Resta who came home in fourth. Hamilton has gone on to win five world titles, four with current team Mercedes but two years before his F1 debut he took the chequered flag in Holland.

Speaking in an interview on motorsport.com Hamilton spoke of his Formula 3 experience as well as his love for the city of Amsterdam saying: “It just wasn't overtaking, so I don't know if it will be any different, I don't know if they changed the circuit or anything like that, but it was an incredible job to ride Formula 3.

“Like I said you couldn't catch up earlier, but maybe DRS zones are better, I have no idea. I think it would be really cool.

“People are talking about Paris, but I like Amsterdam a lot more it is a young and fresh city," he added.
