Ricciardo feels "recharged" for Bahrain after "draining" Australia outing

Renault star Daniel Ricciardo says he's ready to put Australia behind him, where he disappointingly ended retired at his home Grand Prix, as he claims he's "recharged" for this weekend's action in Bahrain.

After having made his controversial switch from Red Bull Racing to Renault this winter, the Aussie had a nightmare start to life for the French team as his race in Melbourne was over before it ever started. He lost his front wing after mere seconds, riding over a bump in the grass on his way to turn one.

“I’m keen to put Australia to one side, it was a pretty frustrating weekend overall, even more so as the pace was clearly there for a good result,” the 29-year-old was quoted by Crash.net.

“In qualifying, I personally felt I left something out there, which meant our starting spot wasn’t ideal. There’s not too much to say about the race."

Moving onto this weekend in Bahrain, Ricciardo is hoping to make amends and put in a good performance for Renault.

“I quite like the circuit in Bahrain and I hope for an improved weekend. I’ve had a bit of rest and recovery between these two race weekends, so I head there feeling recharged.”
