Ricciardo "can't be ecstatic" with P4 in final Red Bull race

After finishing fourth in his 100th and final race for Red Bull Racing, Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that he "can't be ecstatic" with fourth place, as he will move on to Renault for the 2019 season after five years at the Bulls.

The Aussie started the race in fifth and climbed a place early as Kimi Raikkonen retired from the race with a mechanical problem. As the other drivers dived into the pit lane for a fresh set of tyres, Ricciardo opted to stay out an do a very long run on his ultra-softs. In fact, he did over half of the race on them, leading the race for a good while before finally coming in.

He emerged from the pit in fifth but overtook Valtteri Bottas for fourth with a nice move, sending it down the Finn's inside and subsequently defending his place in the corner after.

Still, no podium for the 29-year-old in his final race for Red Bull, which was his objective coming into the race.

"I would have loved a podium," he admits to Sky Sports F1.

"I can't be ecstatic with fourth. But there wasn't much more I could do.

"So we close this chapter now - my thanks to the whole Red Bull team."
