Just hours before the end of 2023, Alfa Romeo has shared a message on X, formerly Twitter. The Swiss team will make an announcement on 1 January 2024. Alfa Romeo will reportedly officially have Sauber in its name on 1 January. The official team name is not yet known, but will undoubtedly follow on the first day of 2024.

"We have been teasing you for a long time. The countdown has finally begun," the constructor wrote on the medium. In the Formula 1 season, Alfa Romeo scored 16 points.
