Villeneuve: Vettel could write a book on how to lose a championship

Never one to shy away from a controversial opinion, Jacques Villeneuve has criticised Sebastian Vettel's poor Japanese Grand Prix performance and says that the German could write a book on how to lose a world championship.

Villeneuve believes that Vettel has already given up on the championship even if the man himself says otherwise. Speaking to Sky Italia, Villeneuve criticised Vettel's lack of intensity and belief in the paddock and on the track.

"Already at the last race we could see that he has accepted that he can not win. He is already much more relaxed.

"The key difference between him and Lewis Hamilton this year: Lewis thinks first if he starts an aggressive attack.

"Vettel tried something and did not play dirty, but it was too risky."

"He could write a book about this season: 'How to lose a world title'."

Vettel's mistakes on track have cost him dearly in the championship fight, now behind title rival Lewis Hamilton by 67 points and with four races remaining, it is very unlikely that Vettel can pull the deficit back and win, bar a complete meltdown for Mercedes.
