Saubers are a serious threat to Toro Rosso warns Gasly

Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly has warned his team to be cautious of the resurgent Sauber team. He believes they are a serious threat in the constructors' championship battle.

Sauber have gone from strength to strength over the last couple of months. Charles Leclerc has visited Q3 twice out of the last three races, and both Sauber drivers have scored points. Meanwhile, Toro Rosso seem to be going backwards.

"Sauber is really fast," Gasly admitted to Racefans. "I think it will be really difficult to keep them behind with the pace they have at the moment. They have a really strong package."

Sauber have been much improved since the Ferrari upgrade. And Gasly believes this has been crucial to their improvement.

"I think in terms of chassis we are still ahead of them, but in terms of power [PU] package they get from Ferrari, it just makes a huge difference with that," Gasly added.

Toro Rosso have picked up 19 points this season. 30 less than Force India. He blames the Honda engine for the points difference. Worrying signs if you're Max Verstappen or Daniel Ricciardo.

"[Our] chassis is good but with the engine, at the moment we lose too much time."
