Red Bull, Haas and Williams complete Pirelli tyre test at Silverstone

2018-07-11 18:44:33 by Matt Gretton

The three teams completed a second test day at Silverstone as Pirelli are looking to find the right tyre compounds for next season.

Max Verstappen drove in today's session picking up from where Sebastien Beumi left off yesterday. Robert Kubica picked up track time in the Williams while Romain Grosjean drove the Haas. Between the four drivers, 509 laps were counted.

The test was carried out under 'blind' conditions. The tyres didn't contain any markings on to inform participants of the compound. The data collected will be available for all teams on the grid. The teams in action weren't allowed to test any particular parts to allow Pirelli to dictate proceedings.

The next Pirelli tyre test takes place in September. McLaren will be the solitary car used to test the prototype rain tires on a wet-sprayed Paul Ricard track.
