McLaren offer Ricciardo a $20 million deal for next season

Mclaren have reportedly offered Daniel Ricciardo a seat for the 2019 season. Ricciardo suggested he’d wait until the engine deal for Red Bull had been decided before agreeing to new contracts.

That deal has now been done, and according to Germany’s Sports Bild, contract talks are underway. Marko now suggests Ricciardo is waiting for Lewis Hamilton to sign before making a decision regarding his own seat.

“Our Daniel Ricciardo is the king of the market. McLaren offers him more every week,” said Marko.

“Ricciardo doesn’t want to sign until Hamilton has signed,” he added. “It’s a bit strange. Hopefully, it ends soon.”

Both McLaren drivers, Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne, remain without a contract for the 2019 season. Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas are also in the same boat.
