After a quiet Friday without major incidents the drivers are preparing for the qualification day. Before the qualifying session, the third free practice session is still on the program.

Verstappen master on Friday
At 18:00 BST the lights at the end of the pits will turn green and the drivers can work on their set-up for one last hour. Max Verstappen already seems to be getting close to that ideal set-up, the Dutchman was fastest in FP1 and FP2.
Leclerc started Friday a bit less strong with a fifth time in FP1, but in the second free practice he was already back on P2 at a gap of 0.081 seconds to Verstappen. Carlos Sainz also seems to be closing in well for the time being with a second and third time in the Friday sessions.

That the midfield is very strong in 2022 should be obvious. In Canada, it is the old champions Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel who have found their niche at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and they hope to continue the good line.
