2022 will be the first year in which Van Amersfoort Racing will participate in FIA F3 again. The Dutch team started in style, as they took pole position in Bahrain during their first race weekend.
Particularly strong start for team and driver
The Dutch team returns to the highest level of Formula 3 this year by competing in the FIA Formula 3, which takes place in the pre-programme of Formula 1. In the first qualifying session of this championship, VAR did exceptionally good business. The driver, also a debutant in F3, Franco Colapinto took pole and amazed all F3 fans.
The team of Frits van Amersfoort is a household name in Dutch racing because they have been in the business for 45 years. Max Verstappen also drove for the team from Zeewolde. In 2014, the Dutchman competed in the European F3 Championship with VAR. The fact that the team is now driving its first race weekend directly into the fastest time during qualifying is a very exceptional achievement. The team has built a strong car and has the best driver in the seat. Such a start to a season can only mean a lot of good for the Dutch comeback team.
