Ricciardo still not at his desired level after half a year

Daniel Ricciardo finished fifth at the British Grand Prix and managed to hold off Carlos Sainz throughout the race. However, the Australian is still not satisfied with the speed he is showing on a weekly basis at McLaren.

With 50 points against Lando Norris' 113, it is clear Ricciardo has not yet made the desired start at his new team. At Renault, Ricciardo also needed some adjustment time, but not that much. At Silverstone, he was pushed to the limit by Sainz, and that did help him further in his process.

Ricciardo needs time

''It is still very frustrating at times, although I have passed the point of real frustration. I think more now that it is my new reality, and I will have to get more and more speed out of the car. That's the best way to look at it,'' says the former Red Bull Racing driver according to The Race.

''It's nothing new for me. I'm aware now that it's a process and that it takes time. In the beginning, I didn't panic. It was clear I was losing ground and I tried to understand how and where I was losing it. What do I need to overcome those few tenths,'' Ricciardo wondered.
