Race control lenient: No penalties for Perez or Raikkonen

Because of his spin in qualifying and an extra pit stop during the race, Sergio Perez had to fight his way through the slower drivers twice. It wasn't easy and in the final stages of the race, it all went wrong.

Perez was particularly strong through Stowe, but because the straight to the club is short, he was unable to pass his predecessors at this point. When he managed to get past Kimi Raikkonen in the closing stages, it ended in a collision.

Raikkonen refuses to give way

Perez braked deep and went wide for the next right-hander. Raikkonen, who has to fight hard for every point this season, left his car standing and eventually had to brake to avoid more contact. This action ended in a spin for the Finn.

Race direction indicated that the incident would be investigated after the race and have now concluded that neither will be penalised for it. This doesn't help them much as both Perez and Raikkonen finished far outside the points.
