Former officer takes charge at Red Bull Ring

Red Bull seems to be sprinkling new announcements today. After the car of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez was presented, the Red Bull Ring announced that it has a new managing director. After the departure of Philipp Berkessy, the circuit had to look for a new director.

The 71-year-old Erich Wolf will be in charge of the daily management. Despite the fact that Wolf is already retired, the racetrack appointed him anyway, speedweek.com reports. Wolf worked in the past as a top officer in the Austrian army.

Wolf was also an important person in the so-called Red Bull Air Race. Due to his past in the Austrian Air Force, he organised the Air Race. Pilots combine speed, precision and skill. They fly at high speed while flying very low.

Besides Formula 1, another big event is organised on the Austrian circuit. This circuit is also part of the calendar during the MotoGP.
