Red Bull builds concept chassis for new Le Mans class in partnership with ORECA

Red Bull Advanced Technologies will work with ORECA to design the concept chassis for the hydrogen class that will run at Le Mans from 2024. The hydrogen class is intended to be a step in a new sustainable direction for the WEC.

Red Bull and ORECA join forces

A new challenge awaits Red Bull. The team will link up with ORECA to design the new concept chassis for the hydrogen class that will run in the Le Mans 24 Hours from 2024, Red Bull announced in a press release.

ORECA will focus on design and production, while Red Bull will use its knowledge from Formula 1 for aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, simulation technology and optimisation of energy recovery. The project will have a strong focus on the sustainable future of endurance racing.

Horner sees opportunity

Red Bull Racing team principal and CEO of Red Bull Advanced Technology Christian Horner says he is delighted to be working with ORECA. "The Hydrogen Class at Le Mans offers an exciting glimpse into the future of sustainable motorsport and promises both to advance the use of hydrogen in transportation, and also deliver exciting racing."
