Christijan Albers backs Max Verstappen after the last race in Turkey. The former Formula 1 driver agrees with the driver of Red Bull Racing about the opinions of various media about Verstappen's performance.
The Dutchman did not have a happy race at Istanbul Park. After his extremely bad start he managed to get himself back on the podium pretty quickly. When he drove behind Sergio Perez and the driver of Racing Point made a mistake, Verstappen saw his chance, but during the overtaking attempt he lost control of his car. Later in the race another spin followed, which definitely left him without a chance to finish on the podium.

But Albers finds all this far too easy to criticize, he writes in his column for De Telegraaf. Of course he made a mistake, which caused him to spin, but it is absolute nonsense to say that he shouldn't have taken that action behind Sergio Pérez."
"Of course I understand that people on television and journalists need to have their stories ready. But you always have to have a fight until drivers or team members have said something. At that point, they are the only people with the expertise. It's a technical sport," Albers says.
