The Sochi circuit is normally a track where Valtteri Bottas can manage well and he proved that again during the race today. The Finn just needed a little luck.

During the interview, reporter Jack Plooij proposes to rename the circuit to the Bottas Autodrome. “Even the race is called the VTB, Valtteri Bottas Grand Prix. I have not always been successful here. I crashed here in the last laps, I had to give my place to Lewis. Okay, I did win twice and stand on the podium once. The speed of the car was very good today, just like in the free practice sessions. This time it finally went my way and I was also lucky ”, says Bottas in front of the Ziggo Sport camera.

Failed attack at the start

“I knew there would be opportunities after the start. He was on the soft tyre of course and that meant he would have to stop sooner. After that in the open air my speed was very good, so I didn't think it was over yet after turn one. In any case, I tried it right away at the start," the Finn concludes.
