It was a dominant victory for Dan Ticktum in the Formula 2 sprint race. The DAMS driver was remarkably quiet in the lap after the finish flag and was finally taken to the podium by the medical car. However, the story got a nasty tail as the British driver was disqualified.

Ticktum's car eventually contained 0.05 kg of fuel. However, Formula 2 regulations state that every driver must have 0.8 kg of fuel in the car at all times in order for the stewards to check it. Because Ticktum is disqualified, Callum Ilott gets the victory. The leader in the championship thus increases his lead. Christian Lundgaard and Mick Schumacher complete the podium in the end.
