At the end of the 1992 Formula 1 season Honda announced its withdrawal from the sport, leaving McLaren hunting for a new engine supplier. That supplier came in the form of Ford for 1993 which brought Ayrton Senna five wins that year. But McLaren were still looking for an engine for 1994 and ended up with a Lamborghini V12!
