The FIA have approved Toro Rosso's name change for the 2020 Formula 1 season. Following the conclusion of Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Toro Rosso will be called Alpha Tauri after Aston Martin Red Bull Racing announced they wanted to change the name of their sister team earlier in the season. The application for this has been successful after getting permission from the teams on the grid and the FIA.

The name Scuderia Toro Rosso has been a permanent sight on the Formula 1 grid for 14 seasons, but we will see a change when the sun rises on the new season in Australia.

Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly will drive for this newly named team. Both drivers managed to record a podium in the current season, with Kvyat clinching one in Germany while Gasly took his first last time out in Brazil. Toro Rosso needs to outscore Renault by nine points in the final race to leapfrog Renault in the F1 world championship.
