Guenther Steiner about hypocritical teams: "I find it confusing"

Haas have been heavily criticized by fans, pundits and other teams due to the fact that their car consists mainly of Ferrari parts. Amid the discussions about the new rules for 2021, Guenther Steiner believes other teams are now being hypercritical.

"One day they think sister, the other day they think so," the Italian complains to Autosport. It is all about self-interest. "We don't want you to buy parts, but if you share your parts with us, I might copy it. I find that confusing.”

One of the ideas for 2021 is to have an 'open source' approach in which teams design their own cars but publish the blueprints so other teams can copy them. It is clear to see that Steiner doesn't see that as being too different from just buying the parts.

Steiner doesn't want this 'open source' idea to go through and would rather just buy parts from other teams.
