As we prepare for another weekend of Formula 1 action - this time in the south of France - the weather forecast for the weekend is supposed to be a scorching hot one.

Circuit Paul Ricard is about 30 kilometres east of Marseille in the south of France and this time of the year is typically its hottest. Friday, which sees FP1 and FP2 get underway, will start cloudy, but as the day progresses, the temperature will become warmer and the clouds should clear.

By the second free practice session on Friday, the temperature should be around 25C. When Saturday arrives, the temperature should increase even more. The air temperature should be around 28C and it is expected to be even hotter on Sunday.

Last season, on race day, the track temperature was an incredible 52C and it is expected that this will be surpassed on Sunday. The air temperature should reach at least 32C on Sunday.

The blisteringly hot weather will have a huge impact on the teams' tyre selections, with the teams looking likely to avoid the soft tyres heading into the French Grand Prix weekend.
