Haas driver Kevin Magnussen has admitted he has permission to race the 24 hour Le Mans with his father but is waiting for the right time to compete at the triple crown event.
Magnussen has competed in the pinnacle of motorsport since 2014 and has since made 89 starts across three teams: McLaren, Renault and his current team Haas. The Danish driver is the son of four-time Le Mans winner Jan Magnussen who also raced in Formula 1 making 24 starts and making his last appearance at the 98 Canadian Grand Prix.
Magnussen revealed that he has permission from his current employers to race the endurance challenge in France but is waiting for the right time to race with his father so they can live up to the expectation.
“They’ve said yeah. It’s just about finding the right time and the right opportunity," Magnussen said as quoted by Race Fans.
“I don’t want to just jump in unprepared because not only is it bad for me, it’s actually also bad for my dad because he needs to win, also and I need to be able to actually live up to it and actually bring something to the table.”
